Grammy Award merupakan salah satu pesta penghargaan musik terbesar di dunia. Setiap tahunnya, sejumlah musisi membuktikan diri dan karyanya ketika dinominasikan dan akhirnya menang. Tahun ini, Grammy Award yang diselenggarakan di Staples Center, Los Angeles pada 15 Februari 2016 telah memasuki usia 52 tahun. Berbagai nama menonjol seperti Taylor Swift yang meraih penghargaan Album of The Year untuk 1989 dan Best Music Videos untuk Bad Blood. Ed Sheeran juga membuktikan kemampuan bermusiknya dengan menyabet penghargaan Song of The Year untuk Thinking Out Loud. Justin Bieber Memenangkan Penghargaan Pertamanya di Grammy Award

Justin Bieber yang terkenal dengan segala sensasinya beberapa tahun belakangan akhirnya berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan berkat “Where Are U Now”. Lagu hasil kolaborasi dengan Skrillex dan Diplo ini mendapat titel “Best Dance Recording” Grammy Awards 2016. Lagu lain yang dinominasikan adalah “We’re All We Need” milik Above & Beyonds, “Go” milik The Chemical Brothers, “Never Catch Me” dari The Flying Lotus feat. Kendrick Lamar dan “Runaway” milik Galantis.

Penampilan ‘Out of Tune’ Adele

Adele berkesempatan menyanyikan lagu “All I Ask” di ajang ini. Tapi, saat ia tampil, mikrofon yang ada di piano jatuh ke dawainya sehingga penampilannya menjadi “out of tune”. Adele kemudian mengklarifikasi ada kesalahan teknis itu di akun Twitternya:

Lady Gaga Menjelma Jadi David Bowie

Gaga kembali membuat orang-orang mengagumi kreativitasnya dalam berkarya. Di Grammy Awards tahun ini, ia menjelma menjadi David Bowie sebagai bentuk penghormatan pada musisi yang meninggal bulan lalu di usia 69 ini. Rihanna Tak Jadi Tampil Karena Sakit

Penyanyi yang baru saja mengeluarkan album “Anti” ini mendadak harus membatalkan penampilannya di Grammy Award 2016. Ia didiagnosa terkena bronkitis dan diminta beristirahat kurang lebih 48 jam. Padahal, Rihanna seharusnya menyanyikan “Kiss It Better”, salah satu lagu terbarunya. Tahun lalu ia mendapat penghargaan dari singlenya bersama Eminem “The Monster” sebagai Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Joel Alexander Mendapatkan Standing Ovations

Pianis muda berusia 12 tahun asal Indonesia, Joey Alexander mendapat nominasi di kategori Jazz. Ia tidak menang, tapi penampilannya mendapat standing ovations hadirin.
